Where is personal accountability? The bank gets blamed because a person can't make their house payment.People need to buy a? house when they can put some money down,15 year loan at max only, the payment should only be 30% of your monthly income, and plan on living their for atleast 7 years. If you can't do that you are better off maintaining good credit and renting. Let's quit blaming financial institutions or government and focus on better financial education in our schools.

If people want to be blind to the truth thats there problem! The fact of the matter is that the truth has been told, and you can believe it or not but it has been prophecied that these things ARE going to happen. Jesus gives us a choice to believe or not to believe,? your choice! Jesus IS coming back and you better be ready!

Do you really think that americans should have a cap on what success they can achieve for themselves and if they become too successful they should be penalized then by all means for for barrack osama, but if you to work hard earn every bit of success that that you can without fear of doing too well or the government will fuck me in the ass you vote the correct way and vote mccain. If I wanted to be a worthless piece of shit who never worked a day in my life and taking handouts id? vote osama too

With his Constitutional expertise, Obama would not violate the Geneva Convention, endangering our troops, he would not use torture, the same techniques for which we prosecuted the Japanese after WW II. I'm confident that he wouldn't break every branch of the military, except for the Navy (which Bush is using to try to goad Iran into "first stricke" by ordering a naval blokade at Hormuz). Perhaps this is why so many generals, and now colin Powell, all support Obama.?

That would be 600,000 tropps (similar to what Bush senior sent in), not the 130,000 troops and 190,000 highly? paid mercenaries (like Blackwater) who are there, and not subject to the Military Uniform Code of Justice. Oddly, the weakest link in a military operation is the supply line, and now that has been privatized, which is why our soldiers have unarmed vehicles, insufficient body armor, rifles from the '70s, and contractors bringing us down, as Blackwater did in Fallujah. If we are attacked by Saudis (like 9/11), I doubt he'll attack a 3rd,? unrelated nation that hadn't attacked or threatened the U.S. And if he knew who the attacker was (like bin Laden), he wouldn't surround him an all THREE sides in Tora Bora. If he saw it necessary to attack a nation, like Iraq, he wold follow the military's advise, like kGeneral Petraeus' Army Field Manual #23, which states that for every 40 in the population you need one soldier to keep down an insurgency. What is he going to do? with the military? I'm not sure, but I'll hedge my bets, based on the following: Obama: 1st in class at Harvard McCain: 894th of 899 at Anapolis Obama: President of Harvard Law Review & taught Constitutional Law for 12 years. McCain: Crashed 4 planes (not including the one that got shot down)), had an affair onhis wife who was nearly killed in an auto accident, divorced her and left her to pay her own hosipital bills (Ross Perot paid them). OK, so after all of your? bloviating, you think BHO is going to do what with the economy? He's going to do what with the military? Your oath is to protect and defend? Are you in the military?
By: SantiLongBeach. on 26 Oct 08, 22:47:58
Our oaths are to protect and defend the Constitution,? the only thing that truly distinguishes this county. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and it all has to come out. Then we can get on the road to prosperity for all. Fascism, the control of government by corporations, with all its hyper-nationalism and false religion, belongs in the history books.

If they understood what it is to love this country and what makes it unique: the Constitution, things would be so different. Monica Goodling, a Regent University (Pat Robertson) 4th tier law school graduate (along with 150 others in the Bush Administration) who interviewed Federal Prosecutors and hired? them based on their political views (unconstitutional) testified before the Senate that she had taken an oath to the President. That would be to a fuehrer, but not in this country.

Right along side is registered foreign lobbyist for the country of Georgia, Randy Scheunemann, as his foreign policy advisor (can we say conflict of interest with the United States?). If the Right loved this country even half as much as it loved? money, perhaps the U.S. would again be a land of opportunity for all.

Phil Gramm, now a lobbyist for a major Swiss bank with U.S. interests, says that we are mental and a nation of whiners. Thats just fine with John McCain, as? he hired him to be his chief economic advisor, and has indicated that he will make him Secretary of the Treasury if elected President. And theres more, the chief lobbyist for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, still under pay with Freddie Mac until it went under this past July, Rick Davis is on McCains lobbyist-filled double talk express.

Financial institutions bought those swaps to protect themselves. The subprime loans were bundled into securities and were supported by Fed Chair Alan Greenspan (securitized loans backed by the government sounds safe, huh?). But because there was no more FDR-mandated regulation, no one saw to it that the banks and hedge funds had the assets to cover the losses they guaranteed. So when it came crashing down, just like in 1929, there were no safeguards, and it pulled the? world in with it.

but just predatory lending. Not only that, but when all 50 states attorneys general and all 50 states superintendents of banks tried to protect consumers from this predatory lending,? Bush brought in the Federal government to override them, using the Office of the Controller of Currency and a law written in 1863 as his rational. Thats how Fannie & Freddie got involved.
By: SantiLongBeach. on 26 Oct 08, 22:44:00
Bush expressed the feelings of those behind? this deregulation and with the brains to do it in his March 2002 speech about removing more than 25 barriers that were preventing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from lending money to minorities and other disadvantaged first time homebuyers who didnt deserve to live in a lousy house, but one like everyone else. NO CRA here! This was the Republican president endorsing it and having the last of the regulations removed that had nothing to do with the CRA,

being rewarded with $1.8 million before it came tumbling down on 17,000 employees, pensioners, stockholders and other mythical little people. But what Enron was to California, thanks to this man and friends, is what Wall Street is to the U.S. and now the world, due to deregulation allowing? for the credit default swaps that would follow.
By: SantiLongBeach. on 26 Oct 08, 22:42:38
This allowed for the speculation that was first taken advantage of my Enron, with the predictable result in California (then they moved on to speculating in oil which is the direct cause of the extraordinarily high prices of the summer of 08. The prices came down when the credit crisis hit? and the speculators couldnt borrow to further speculate on it). Wendy Gramm moved from being the Chair of the CFTC (yep) to Enron,

on December 15, 2000: The Commodities Futures Modernization Act. Many lawmakers did not know that it had? been inserted, as it had been done at the last minute. In his own words, Gramm said that the act would protect financial institutions from overregulation by the SEC and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), effectively killing enforcement on what regulation was left.

like Citigroup, to underwrite and trade instruments such as mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations to establish Structured Investment Vehicles. An additional piece of legislation by Phil Gramm, lobbied for by one of his most generous contributors, Enron, was an amendment he surreptitiously slipped into the last omnibus? bill of the Clinton Administration, just two days after the Gore vs. Bush decision,

but just a mere presage of things to come. The current deregulation efforts were headed up by Senator foreclosure Phil Gramm, of Texas. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 repealed the prohibition of bank holding companies from owning other financial companies, and allowed mortgage? banks to sell packaged mortgages to investment banks and on to the world marketplace. This enabled commercial lenders,
