How about this: Instead of making people? personally being forced to pay for their education, why not raise taxes to the point where the state funds all education for you? That way everyone, including the very poor can get a good education. It's all about leveling the playing field. People shouldn't have an advantage in life just because their parents are rich.

Many of your universities are funded and researched in by the feds. Most of our modern industrialized society and science was funded in part by the communal wealth of the people.
